My name is Frankie Mann, and I'm an aspiring investigative journalist!
I'm from Placerville, California, a town with only one local newspaper and little to no bipartisan coverage. I arose from this local news desert with a mission: To spread the truth and share public opinion, inspiring positive change throughout the country and the world.
I've been consistently publishing for the last 3 years: I started out at the Mesa Press, where I served not only as a staff writer but also the editor for the news and opinion sections. After (finally!) getting to SDSU I threw myself into writing for the Daily Aztec, where I have enjoyed writing op-eds, covering campus news, and sharing student perspectives on important issues.
My favorite type of story to write (and what I have the most fun editing) has always been a good old op-ed: There's nothing I like more than getting up on my soapbox! But this stems from one of my biggest goals as a writer. I want to make my writers feel something, whether it's anger, joy, frustration, or pure empathy for fellow humans. How we feel is one of our biggest motivators for action, and I want my work to inspire change and reform through the passion that readers will experience from what I provide.
